Jenny Moxham approached Cosy after she was unsatisfied with her existing showreel.
The backing tracks available on the internet were all of a un-complementry quality.
Every site she checked only contained backing tracks to a comparible quality to that of a 1980's karaoke down your local and it was evident that if her showreel was to impress, both the recording and the backing had to be of professional quality. Her only other option were specialist showreel companies charging in the region of £500-600 for just a few hours with an engineer who had no opinion on her performance or care for the outcome.
Cosy engineer Bob set to work transcribing several backing tracks to her request that would shine enough to set her vocals off.
Listening to 100's of showreels can be tiresome buisness and I wanted to give Jenni the edge. A static sounding backing track can be tiring on the ears and makes it hard for a producer to put the vocal in perspective of something with real feeling to it. While the vocal is obviously the priority material, its only going to be as strong as the track its sitting in. It doesn't take me long to knock up something with enough real instrumentation to give the performance the dynamic it derserves. - Bob Turley.
As a professional producer and musician himself, Bob extends his engineering role during recording sessions offering valuable opinion on performance, feeling and technical excecution. We care about our clients and the creativity of performance is a 2-way dyanamic between the engineer and performer. During performance, a performer doen't have the mental resources to dedicate to listening and thats where we come in, providing immediate professional feedback on your takes and helping you choose which ones will set your performance on fire.
