Really pleased we got to do this, as the Sussex arms has been a staple part of our community circle for a long time now and its an honour to handle their web presence.
Currently, the owners didn't want anything to complex or hard to maintain up as they are well aware of the responsibilities of keeping a website up to date. So, we focussed on integrating as much of their currently updating web content as possible without having to add to the bar chores.
Their Twitter feed is both popular and easy to update, so we integrated a full length feed into a side panel on the page. When the side panel opens, the entire site, designed to mimic a newspaper front page, twists in 3d to enhance the newspapers tangibility. Future plans for this feature, include expansion of the newspaper, with page turning and the ability to look at several sites within the company's chain of venues as a collection of newspapers to pick up and read.
The Newspaper headings are all catalogued as bookmarks on the left hand panel, which auto-scrolls the site to the appropriate headings.
In addition, their calendar of events keep punters updated on events to come and integrates easily into the managements iPhone calendar.
As a mobile site, the information collapses down to get viewers the important information they care about on the move.. A Google map marker, Telephone number and E-mail address.
